It can be a stressful time moving house. But when you plan everything in advance, Everything will
& should go smoothly.
That's why we've created this special page within the site to advise about removal boxes.
Packing Fragile Items in removal
boxes.
Fragiles are some of the hardest items to pack in removal
boxes. From ornaments to dishes, antiques, photos and lights, you'll need to consider what you're packing, and
how best to transport them in removal boxes.
Large photos, framed items and paintings other wall based
items are easiest wrapped in bubble-wrap and then placed carefully in a safe place
wherethey'll need to be monitored carefully when
moving, as anything falling against them could cause serious damage, tear or break
them.
By far and away, the most awkward items to move are computer
monitors and TV are the hardest to move ñ unless you've kept their boxes, you'll find it very difficult to
either fit them into a box that you have acquired, or find that you need the boxes for other things. These can
be wrapped in sheets or dust covers and placed, with padding around them, in the van once the boxes are in. Most
removal companies bind layers to stop them from shifting or falling, so you can secure your monitors, and
computers in the same way.
Fragile items, such as ornaments and dishes can go in
polystyrene bead lined boxes, or be packed in bubble wrap, but its important to remember that this will cut down
on the volume of the items you can fit into removal boxes, and its still no guarantee that they will survive the
move.
Careful packing does minimize the risk of things being
broken, but one of the only ways to actually ensure that you have no breakages whilst moving is to take them
with you, or, if hiring a firm, allowing them to pack.
Newspaper is a great buffer item in removal boxes, but
remember, the ink may rub off when you're in transit, giving you another chore at the other end. You can get
white newsprint paper from most box suppliers, which is considered to be best for packing and wrapping
fragiles.
Organizing Your Garage Using plastic storage
boxes
While you are organizing, don't forget to take a look at your
garage. Set aside two successive days for organizing your garage using plastic storage boxes. One day for
tearing it apart and putting it back together and the next day for organizing wall space. You will need to take
everything out, boxes, bikes, lawnmowers, snow blowers etc. Take this time to sweep out bugs, dirt and
more!
Decluttering is just as essential in this space as any other
in your home. Once you have made decisions about what you are keeping, it is time to define categories for
storage. Don't disregard the storage room above the overhead doors that can be used for long flat
things.
Once you have created your categories, put things that you
use the most in simple access and things that are 'sometime' things can go up higher. Utilize wall and ceiling
space to maximize your vicinity using plastic storage boxes . Put up shelves to place boxes on and label them so
you can 'look and find'. Garage items can be very weighty and need extra support, you might want to add extra
supports or make them out of wood.
Metal shelving units are fashionable, but don't forget to use
the wall space at the top of the wall. Shelving can go up here, be out of the way and is great for those things
you only use once or twice a year. Well-built plastic storage boxes with lids are an outstanding way to keep
bugs and dirt away.
Tag everything you have in plastic storage boxes for easy
searching. Being able to actually use your garage and find everything without wasting time hunting for it are
rewards for your hard labor. Do you have any idea how much money you are going to save without having to go and
purchase new items for the things you lost?
Tips on Planning a Furniture
Removals
Moving from one place to another can be quite a traumatising
experience. Moving all the heavy pieces of furniture, keeping an eye on the workers to make sure they don't
break anything, packing all your things, then unpacking them, arrange everything... these can turn out to be a
heavy ordeal. But this whole moving operation could be completed without big headaches if you plan it carefully
in advance. Here are a few tips you should apply whenever considering the possibility of a furniture removal
operation.
The planning should start a month ahead the moving day. Start
gathering all kind of necessary moving supplies like tape, boxes or rope. Get some newspapers for the breakable
things if you don't want to spend money on bubble wrap. Always make the necessary travel/transportation
arrangements ahead. If you plan to move in another city far away, you should contact airlines to make the
necessary arrangements. You should also call more airline companies to get the best price and the best
transportation conditions.
After doing this, look for a furniture removals company.
Check more furniture removals companies, as they have different price and different facilities for
transportation.
But the most important thing you should be doing before
moving is to arrange for your mail to be delivered to the new residence. Contact all your friends, relatives,
family etc to inform them on your new address. Inform the bank and other financial institutions on your new
residence details. Ask the post office to forward your mail to the new address. Look for a new
doctor/dentist/vet in the new area that you are about to move into.
Two weeks before starting the furniture removals, inform your
utilities companies of your change of address. And contact the utilities companies at your new residence to sign
up for their services. Confirm the moving or travel arrangements and start packing all the things that can be
packed in advance.
The day before the moving day, make sure you haven't packed
the moving supplies (meaning the tape or the bubble wrap). Make sure you have put the most important things
(documents, checks, money or jewellery) in a bag that you will keep with you at all
times.
And, during the furniture removal day, remember that losing
your calm will not help. So try to stay calm, breath deep whenever an unfortunate accident (like breaking your
favourite china) happens.
Finding time to organize file boxes is often a complaint used
by people. In today's society, activity is almost non-stop and it IS difficult to see where you can add yet
another task to your schedule. However, there are ways, hidden pockets of time, to accomplish things. Below I
cover a few of these often overlooked free periods.
*FOCUS ON
A LITTLE BIT AT A TIME
Rather than thinking about the enormous job at the forefront,
split that mission up into controllable tasks. For instance, if you want to organize file boxes in your attic,
you may think about going through one box per day, until it's all complete.
*ASK
SOMEONE TO BUG YOU
Tell a close friend, relative or co-worker, what you plan to
organize, and by what date. Then, merely request that person to bug you a small number of days before to see if
you've completed it so far. A little outside inspiration is frequently an enormous
help.
*BRIBE
YOURSELF
Make something you love to do, dependant on the achievement
of today's chore. If you promise yourself that you will not watch your favorite television program tonight,
unless you work for 15 minutes on organizing your paper piles into file boxes, you're sure to get that little
task completed. No cheating permitted.
*DO NOT
SEPARATE EACH PENDING BILL
Whatever you do, don't put your utility bill in one folder,
your car insurance bill in another folder and your membership dues bill in another. All imminent bills should be
together in an envelope, pocket folder or basket so they can be paid without having to search several different
places to find them.
*FIT IN
EXERCISE BY MULTI-TASKING
Do some calisthenics or ride a stationary bike while watching
your favorite television program. Do some easy stretches, while you're on the telephone and you're on hold.
Waiting for the washing machine or dryer to finish, or waiting for a computer file to download? Now is a great
time for some sit-ups or leg lifts!
